I have a NEC PA 302W monitor capable of 10-bit color. The card has a mini display port (and a DVI - D port). This card was originally proposed by Apple as an upgrade to the previous Mac Pros. I recently bought an ATI Radeon HD 4870 graphics card to the address used (Apple model #-MB999ZM/A) to install in my Mac Pro early 2008. You can set that in Lightroom preferences see the capture screen. It became embarrassing for then down adjust the color depth of 8-bit color, and I wonder if there is a hidden export setting that will allow me to export the image to 8-bit. When the image appears in Photoshop it indeed that adjustments, but the depth of color is still 32-bit. In LR when I rt - click in the image area, a menu will appear. How to export from Lightroom to Photoshop 2014 using 8-bit color? Lightroom performs all the calculations in 16-bit precision, but for display on a screen, the images are always reduced to 8-bit. No 6 LR does not support monitors 10bits AFAIK. I know version 6 introduced the gpu acceleration, but the 10-bit color depth has been introduced through openCL?
